About the role

The Associate Designer will support the Design Team in executing seasonal concept direction, line plan style needs, margin requirements and completion of product.  Communicates to agents/vendors and other departments under the direction of the Designer/Senior Designer. Will additionally provide tactical and administrative support for specified categories.

The impact you can have

  • Assist Sr. Designer/Designer in creating the product collections at the beginning of each season for specific category/categories

  • Support design team by preparing necessary visual tools (i.e. sketches, line sheets in google slides, presentation boards, fabric swatches, color standards, etc)

  • Email daily communication to agent/vendor offices as needed

  • Assist in coordinating category samples and CADs for line review and Line Coordination

  • Attend all Fit sessions pertaining to your category/categories

  • Partner and communicate with Sourcing to ensure accurate translation of design intent

  • Partner with Merchants to know and understand sales of your category and be able to apply this sales knowledge to future development

  • Assist in all sketching seasonal assortment, creating accurate seasonal tech packs, tech pack updates and line sheets per categories under direction of the Sr. Designer and/or designer

You’ll bring to the role

  • 2-4 years of experience in a design related position for a fashion retailer.

  • Background in fit, fabric development, finishes and construction details.

  • Bachelor’s degree in design or related field preferred.

  • Proficient in Word, Excel and Power Point. Prior PLM, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CLO and Kaleidostyle experience preferred.

  • Excellent organizational skills.

  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills.

  • Ability to build and sustain relationships quickly.
