About the role
The Senior Manager leads the end-to-end development, sourcing, and production of Knits and Wovens—from design inception through order placement—partnering closely with cross-functional teams and global vendors to deliver beautifully executed product on time, on cost, and to quality standards while proactively managing all key milestones and deliverables.

Sourcing strategies aligned to design, merchandising, production, quality, cost, and business objectives.
Manage end‑to‑end product development and production, including samples, raw materials, and on‑time delivery in line with the product lifecycle calendar.
Oversee day‑to‑day communication with internal teams and external agents, factories, and suppliers to ensure clarity, timely responses, and issue resolution.
Create and manage time‑and‑action calendars, tracking milestones, lead times, and delivery performance to mitigate risk and late shipments.
Issue and manage purchase orders, monitor floor set and shipping reports, and proactively address delivery delays.
Own seasonal cost targets (IMU), including fact‑based cost negotiations, cost breakdown analysis, and identification of cost‑competitive alternatives.
Maintain detailed and accurate product cost sheets supporting visibility to FOB, ELC, retail, IMU, and delivery timing.
Serve as a subject matter expert on global lead times, MOQs, and manufacturing capabilities, challenging partners to improve efficiency where possible.
Partner with Product Integrity and agents to ensure all products meet U.S. regulatory requirements, vendor guidelines, and safety/testing standards.
Build and maintain strong cross‑functional and external relationships, while coaching and developing team members in garment manufacturing and business management.
You’ll bring to the role
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; 8+ years of relevant industry experience
Experience in Footwear and Handbags
Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including comfort navigating conflict
Strong critical‑thinking skills with a results‑ and service‑oriented mindset
High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams)
Detail‑oriented team player with proven ability to manage and develop teams

The target salary range for this role is: $110,000 - $120,000
On-site: This position works on-site at least 4 days per week consistent with the needs of the business at our Talbots office location in Hingham, MA.
