About the role
The Human Resources Manager holds a business-facing role within the brand that includes talent consulting, organizational design and professional coaching. As a Human Resources Business Partner, the core purpose of this role is to promote organizational effectiveness by working with leaders on talent programs and driving high performance teams that model Lane Bryant’s Leadership Principles.

- Serves as the primary HR advisor for assigned functional areas and understands business requirements to successfully design and implement HR and talent initiatives that support company objectives & results.
- With a core focus on building talent & capabilities, performs HR Generalist responsibilities for assigned client groups including but not limited to: onboarding, associate relations, coaching & development, talent & succession planning, performance management & corrective action, teambuilding, leadership & organizational development, change management, training, exit interviews, etc.
- Proactively provides guidance and the “people context” for business decisions.
- Facilitates Change Management activities within the organization and leads initiatives and action plans to ensure alignment to Lane Bryant’s culture, brand and leadership principles.
- Collaborates with brand & cross-brand HRBPs and KnitWell Group’s centralized HR functions to advocate for a consistent associate & leader experience and to ensure that HR programs and initiatives are designed and delivered to serve the needs of the business.
- Assesses functional structures, defines changes and makes recommendations to address business challenges (i.e. creation and/or elimination of roles, restructure of positions, realignments & role clarity, etc.)
- In partnership with senior leaders, develops and executes strategies to retain critical talent and to create a positive and productive work environment and culture with a focus on talent management & retention.
- Provides coaching & guidance to leaders and associates to all levels from executive to individual contributor.
- Maintains an up-to-date knowledge of industry and HR trends, standards and “best practices.” Stays abreast of applicable human resources regulations and trends; integrates this knowledge into day-to-day activities.
- Understands employment law and regulatory requirements and follows the appropriate protocols in place to ensure business compliance.
You’ll bring to the role
- Minimum of 5-7 years of human resource experience in retail or in a consumer products/retail environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred. PHR/SPHR certification a plus.
- Prior experience working with a matrixed business model preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in coaching and associate relations. Strong executive presence.
- Ability to think strategically and align HR initiatives and activities to business results.
- Capable of building business partnerships at all levels within our business.
- Highly effective in influencing and negotiations.
- Solution oriented.
- Applies situational leadership as appropriate to stakeholders and business conditions.
- Demonstrated change agility and proven ability to work in fast-paced, continuously evolving, high-growth environment.
- Strong customer service acumen.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
