The Director, Trend & Creative Concept is responsible for leading the development of new concepts and style ideas, based on market fashion trends and inspiration. The Director will be part of a unique environment that is an incubator for new ideas and creativity, with the opportunity to ensure the desired vision remains intact and is brought to life. This requires strong cross-functional relationships with design, merchandising and marketing to ensure the product inspiration and styling carries through from initial design concept to marketing collateral.
The impact you can have
Spearhead conceptual direction for each season, adjusting per shifting strategic needs of the business
Creates trend forecast to be used by both design and merchandising
Research, identify trends and conceptualize new ideas that complement existing product or take the LOFT business in a new direction
Oversee direction of print, pattern and color for each collection
Print and Sample budget management
Stay abreast of trends, new techniques and resources in print design and fabric
Present new concepts and seasonal ideas to senior management and design for inspiration
Demonstrate strong awareness of apparel retail and fashion landscape
Build relationships with Cross-Functional partners and participate as a solution-oriented team member, contributing to a high performing team
Demonstrate ability to affect key decisions within the Cross-Functional team
Partner with Merchandising leadership to assure brand right color and theme flow, adding and adjusting color and print post line coordination processes.
Partner with Marketing in order to influence marketing POV and creative solutions
Partner with Design on print, pattern and color to meet all line plan and development needs
Partners with each department at different touch points through the product life cycle.
You'll bring to the role
10-15 years of experience in design, pattern, textiles and color
Bachelors' or Associates Degree, or equivalent, in Design
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong fashion sense, with a sense of brand and client needs
Detail oriented, with excellent follow-through skills
Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment
Strong communication and presentation skills
Conceptual and/or Trend forecasting experience preferred

The target salary range for this role is: $140K - $180K
