About the role
The Manager, Public Relations serves a significant role supporting the PR Department across Ann Taylor and LOFT and assists with all PR-related activities with the goal of driving brand awareness and increasing fashion credibility. Job function includes assisting PR team in all aspects of media relations, influencer relations, and external communications. The Manager also manages day-to-day editorial requests. Candidates must be productive, self-motivated, creative and team-oriented and excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. Close attention to detail and follow through and pronounced ability to complete multiple tasks and goals a must.
The impact you can have
Work closely with cross-functional teams across Ann Taylor and LOFT including merchandising, ecommerce, marketing, design, creative and retail teams on various PR projects
Achieve regular product placements with targeted sites – corresponding with marketing pushes
Achieve inclusion in fashion feature round-ups with main fashion and lifestyle sites
Own pitching for specific brand philanthropic initiativesCultivate new editor relationships and brainstorm new angles/approaches for all brands: traditional media and digital.
Own day-to-day communication/product fulfillment with influencer partners
Research new influencers for Ann Taylor and LOFT and creative ways we can partner
Research competitive landscape for other retailer activations and partnerships
Fulfill editorial requests and credit information
Liaise with sourcing and merch for up-to-date sample information
Serve as day-to-day liaison with agencies and fulfill all requests/place warehouse orders for product
Manage editorial giftings
Execute and send the bi-weekly press recaps
You’ll bring to the role
• Bachelor’s degree (preferably in marketing, communications, public relations or journalism)
• 4-5 years’ work experience
• Passion for style, fashion and trend-spotting
• Affinity for the ANN INC. brands and a belief in their promise and products
• General knowledge of media landscape
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
• Highly organized, detail oriented, great follow up
• Honest, hard-working, driven, enthusiastic
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with cross-functional partners
• Comfort and experience working directly with media
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing to meet deadlines
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
• Experience with media database contact software

The target salary range for this role is: $80,000 - $85,000
Hybrid: This position works in a hybrid model, with required days worked in the LOFT office location in New York, NY as defined by business needs.
